雅思考试目前广为世界各国政府、院校机构认可。在全世界有120多个国家和地区举行，是世界上增长最快的国家。雅思在美国也同样被广泛认可。在此，英国大使馆文化教育处提供了，最受国际学生欢迎的19所美国院校雅思分数要求。此排名源自Open Doors公布的最受国际学生欢迎美国院校排名，数据更新于2013年5月。统计显示，19所最受国际学生欢迎的美国院校当中，全部院校的本科课程和研究生课程接受雅思成绩的申请。
